Ottawa Craft Breweries 2023
This dataset shows the names and locations of known craft breweries operating within the boundaries of the City of Ottawa as of August 1, 2023 inclusive of client brewers (brewers operating out of a partner facility on a part-time basis).
Where possible, information on breweries that have ceased operations prior to 2023 has been included to allow researchers to understand sector growth and contraction. Accuracy: This dataset is part of an ongoing data collection program on the local cultural and creative industries. The structure and content of this data may change without notice.
While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and veracity of the information in this dataset, the City of Ottawa is not responsible in any way for damages arising out of the use of this data.
Although the City of Ottawa relies on reputable sources and believes the information posted by the City is correct, and attempts to keep the information current, the City of Ottawa does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information.
Update Frequency: This dataset will be reviewed annually and updated as needed.
Attributes:
This dataset contains the following fields:
- Name: The name of the craft brewery operator or craft beer producer.
- Street Address: The location of the brewery by street address.
- Postal Code: The postal code linked to the brewery’s street address.
- Ward: The City of Ottawa ward where the brewery is located.
- Latitude: A geographic coordinate that specifies the degrees of a point north or south of the Equator. Used in GPS and mapping.
- Longitude: A geographic coordinate that specifies the degrees of a point east or west of the Prime Meridian. Used in GPS and mapping.
- Beer Types: Types of beer produced. Ex. IPA, sour, plisner, lager.
- Year Opened: The year the brewery began operations.
- Year Closed: The last year in which the brewery was operational, if applicable.
- Status: Whether the brewery is operational (active) as of August 1, 2023, closed or has an indeterminate status (unknown).
- Website: The brewery website. Must be 19+ years old to visit brewery websites in the province of Ontario. Age verification attestation on homepage
