Dwellings Needing Repair (Postal Code metadata) - 3
In April 2023, CANUE staff obtained the 2016 and 2021 census datasets in IVT format for all of Canada (comprehensive download files without confidence intervals). At the dissemination area (DA) level using 25% sample data from the Household characteristics heading, the proportion of dwellings needing major repair was calculated. Missing data was assigned a value of -9999. The dataset of the proportion of dwellings needing major repair was joined to the digital boundary DA shapefiles for each respective year. CANUE staff then assigned the proportion of dwellings needing major repair to the corresponding DMTI postal code file for the given year.
