Manitoba Original Survey Grid

Vector tile layer depicting Manitoba's Dominion Land Survey (DLS) and parish lot cadastral framework. The layer displays township and parish boundaries at small scales and progressively reveals section, quarter section, and parish lot information, providing a scalable reference for land location and mapping applications across Manitoba.

This vector tile layer provides a province-wide representation of Manitoba's township-range and parish lot framework. At smaller scales, the layer displays generalized township and parish boundaries to provide geographic context. As users zoom in, additional detail becomes visible, including individual quarter section boundaries within townships, parish lot boundaries, and corresponding labels.

The layer is intended as a cartographic reference for land location, cadastral, and geospatial applications. Scale-dependent symbology and labeling are used to optimize map performance and readability across a wide range of viewing scales.

Features include:

  • Township boundaries and labels
  • Parish boundaries and labels
  • Section and quarter section boundaries and labels
  • Parish lot boundaries and labels

Intended Use:

The boundaries depicted in this layer are intended for cartographic reference and visualization purposes only. Boundary locations may not align precisely with surveyed parcel boundaries, legal descriptions, or real-world positions and should not be used to determine property extents, boundary locations, or measurements.

This layer is not intended for digitizing, editing, or creating authoritative spatial data. Users requiring parcel geometry or legal land boundaries should use the authoritative  Roll Entry layer maintained by the Province of Manitoba.

This layer is designed as a reference basemap overlay for locating and identifying Dominion Land Survey townships, sections, and Manitoba parish lots. It is suitable for web maps and geographic reference purposes.
