Global Anthropogenic CH4 (Methane) Emissions 2018

Global Anthropogenic Methane (CH4) Emissions 2018 from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS)

Global CH4 emissions data are generated using Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) information for 2018.The emissions represented are not total emissions, but a large sampling at 10-km altitude. This sampling is of sufficient resolution to provide a detailed representation of the local distribution and density of emissions. This multidimensional layer provides global coverage for from these sectors, which are modeled from point sources:
  • AGL - Agricultural Livestock
  • AGS - Agricultural Soils
  • AWB - Agricultural Waste Burning (present, though only trace values exist)
  • ENE - Power Generation and Energy Industry
  • FEF - Fugitives Emissions from Solid Fuels and Solid Fuel Manufacturing
  • IND - Industrial
  • RES - Residential/Commercial Combustion
  • SHP - Shipping (present, though only trace values exist)
  • SLV - Solvents (present, though all values are zero)
  • SWD - Solid and Water Waste Management and Disposal
  • TRO - Road Transportation (present, though only trace values exist)
  • TNR - Non-Road Ground Transportation
  • SUM - Total of all of the above
Values were converted by Esri from Kg/m2/sec. to an annual sum of Mg/ha for 2018 to match the Conservation International Irrevocable Carbon layer's units.
