Réseau de données hydrographiques de l'Ontario – élément hydrographique

Indique les éléments hydrographiques en Ontario qui sont pris en compte dans le Réseau de données hydrographiques de l'Ontario (RDHO).

Une caractéristique est une représentation d'un élément topographique, comme un lac, un ruisseau, un barrage ou un rapide.

Il existe trois catégories de caractéristiques hydrographiques : points, lignes et polygones. Tous ces éléments topographiques peuvent gêner le débit d'eau et (ou) être dangereux pour la navigation sur un cours d'eau ou plan d'eau.

Ces données montrent des caractéristiques ponctuelles naturelles et artificielles, en voici quelques exemples :
 

  • chutes d'eau,
  • rapides,
  • roches,
  • obstacles pour contrôler la lamproie de mer.
