Flood Maps Model
The presented material has been developed with the support of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Chaucer Syndicates Ltd collaborative research grant “Linking hazard, exposures and risk across multiple hazards” to Prof. Slobodan P. Simonovic. This software tool is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.
This tool requires the use of browsers with Javascript and jQuery compatibility. The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge were tested and compatible.

Flood Map Viewer is an interactive, web‑based mapping platform that provides access to flood hazard and flood risk maps across Canada. Developed as a research‑based tool, it allows users to visualize areas that may be affected by flooding and to explore how floodplains and flood risk patterns can change under different conditions, including the effects of climate change.
The platform presents flood hazard information through map‑based visualizations that help users better understand potential flood exposure at regional and local scales. It is designed to support learning, awareness, and informed discussion related to flood preparedness, emergency planning, climate adaptation, and long‑term resilience. The tool can be used by communities, planners, researchers, and the general public to explore flood risk in a clear and accessible way.
Flood Map Viewer is intended for information and educational purposes and is best used alongside local knowledge, community experience, and authoritative flood studies. The maps are not intended for regulatory, legal, or site‑specific decision‑making, but rather as a reference to support understanding of flood risk and changing floodplain dynamics over time.
