Truck Route Planner (TRP)
The Truck Route Planner (TRP) is a web application intended to provide interactive and easy to understand way finding and trip planning information to the Goods Movement sector, which is an implementation priority in the Regional Goods Movement Strategy adopted by TransLink in 2017. The TRP was delivered as a partnership between TransLink and the DataBC Program in the Ministry of Citizens' Services.
Users are able to enter their start/end points as well as their vehicle weights and dimensions. The application will provide a proposed route which is compliant with local truck route bylaws in Metro Vancouver and route around known height and weight restrictions on truck routes. There is also a wealth of information captured in the cartographic layers that is relevant to the trucking industry including: truck routes, truck restrictions and advisories, pre-screened routes for oversize-overweight (OS-OW) trucks, truck parking, inspection stations, and much more!
