Water Quality in Ottawa’s Rivers and Streams is monitored by the City of Ottawa’s Stormwater Management Services to provide up-to-date information on the condition of Ottawa’s surface water resources.

- Date Sampled – The day the sample was taken
- Parameter – The specific parameter that was tested
- Result – The numeric result of the test
- Flag – A field that provides information about the result. See the “Flag Key” for more information.
- Unit – The method of measurement of the result. See the “Units Key” for more information.
- RDL – The Reported Detection Limit
- Project – The project number
- Sampling Point – The code that corresponds to the sampling point field in the dataset
- Description – A description of the location of the sampling site
- Easting – The easting in MTM Zone 9, NAD83 (CSRS) of the site
- Northing – The northing in MTM Zone 9, NAD83 (CSRS) of the site
- Unit_Type – The type of unit specified in the unit field in the dataset
- Description – Describes the unit type.
- Flag Key – A code that corresponds to the flag field in the dataset
- Description – A description of the flag related to the test result.
- AI - Spike recovery failure. Analytical interference suspected
- B3 - Analytical blank > 3 times and < 10 times undiluted RDL
- B10 - Analytical blank > 10 times undiluted RDL
- D - Duplicate difference higher than desired. Possibly due to lack of sample homogeneity
- E - Indicated concentration is estimated
- F - Calibration check failure; result suspect
- HT - Analytical hold time exceeded
- RM - Reference material result outside desired range
- SC - Test was Subcontracted
- < - Result is less than the indicated concentration
- > - Result is greater than the indicated concentration
- 3X - Analytical blank > 3 times and < 10 times undiluted RDL
- 10X - Analytical blank > 10 times undiluted RDL.
