Wildfire - Hazard Extent - DCRRA

Wildfire hazard areas across BC, including undeveloped and urban vegetated regions. Based on BCWS 2019 Provincial Strategic Threat Analysis (PSTA) , providing a relative wilfire threat assessment at a 90 m resolution.

Wildfire refers to uncontrolled burning of wildland vegetation. This layer represents areas with wildfire hazard potential confined to public lands ("Crown Lands") in BC, including both undeveloped areas and vegetated areas within urban development areas.

The “Provincial Strategic Threat Analysis” (PSTA) geospatial dataset (BC Wildfire Service, 2019) was used as the input for the wildfire hazard component of the hazard threat analysis. This dataset represents an approximate relative wildfire threat assessment at the provincial scale for all wildland in British Columbia, in raster format at 90 m resolution.
