Definition of an Occurrence: An incident or a series of connected incidents reported to police that results in the creation of a police report. An occurrence can be criminal requiring investigation or non-criminal requiring follow-up.- Data is refreshed every day, with a 24-48 hour delay.
- The CSDP (Community Safety Data Portal) displays a selected list of occurrence types.
- All dates and times are reflective of their reported date and time, not when the actual event took place.
- The occurrences had to have taken place within Edmonton and reported to EPS.
- Occurrences on provincial roads that are outside of EPS’s policing jurisdiction are reported to the RCMP and will not appear on the CSDP
- All data in the CSDP is subject to change without notice
- To protect privacy, no personal or identifying information is included in CSDP data.
- To anonymize the location of the incident the point on the map will be relocated to the closest intersection to where they occurred and should be considered approximate; any attempts to derive a specific address are strictly prohibited.
- Highly populated areas or areas with a high-volume of foot traffic (e.g., shopping areas, entertainment facilities, schools, parks, main roads, densely populated communities etc.) may have more reported incidents. This does not necessarily mean that there is a disproportionate amount of crime in these areas.
