Riparian - FREP - (data sampling up to 2019)
FREP Riparian dataset includes data collected by BC's NRD staff (data sampling up to 2019) across the Province.
This dataset conveys the results of monitoring that has been carried out by the Forest and Range Evaluation Program(FREP). FREP was established in 2003 for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of the results-based Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA). FREP’s mission is to:

Assess the impacts of forest and range activities on the 11 FRPA resource values to determine of on-the-ground results are achieving government’s desired outcomes for these values;

Monitor and report on the condition of resource values, including trends and causal factors, and;

Identify opportunities for continued improvement of practices, policies and legislation.
FREP effectiveness evaluations are not intended to assess and report on compliance with legal requirements. They are science-based protocols to evaluate the condition of FRPA resource values on the ground, and the effectiveness of practices in conserving these values, intended to support professional dialogue and continuous improvement to forest and range practices.
The FREP Dashboard currently includes the results of monitoring carried out for riparian, water quality stand level biodiversity and visual quality across the province. Data for other values will be added over time.
