HectaresBC
HectaresBC provides web access to visualize and analyze geographic data. The system allows users to easily create queries that produce map visualizations and statistical summaries based on criteria that may combine multiple datasets.
For example, you could very quickly create a map and statistical summary that shows the area of each local health authority that is within 1 km of the ocean, more than 500 meters from the nearest road, and below 800 meters in elevation.
Users can visualize, analyze, and download 100s of datasets from the platform that range from current and future climate data, to administrative boundaries and land use to environmental and ecological classifications. All the data within the system is grid based (100 meter X 100 meter cells) also known as raster data.
