Custom Census Reports for 2021, 2016, 2011, 2006 (supports HNR Method – Components A and C)

This dataset contains custom Census information from Statistics Canada for the past 4 Census reports (2021, 2016, 2011, 2006), including data about population, household income, economic sectors (labour force), housing units, and core housing needs in three files for each of the Census year:

Population Data: This file includes population and labour force data for every municipality, regional district electoral area, and IR in B.C. This data can be used to support HNR Method – Component C: Suppressed Household Formation as it includes the data required to calculate headship rates.

Private Households Data: This file includes data about household characteristics, household income, and private dwellings for every municipality, regional district electoral area, and IR in B.C.

Core Housing Needs Data: This file includes data about Core Housing and Extreme Core Housing Need for every municipality, regional district electoral area, and IR in B.C. This data supports HNR Method – Component A: Extreme Core Housing Need. For extreme core housing need data for owners with a mortgage, please click here.

Note: to find a specific local government in Beyond 20/20, choose "geography' in the drop-down window at the top or highlight the top left cell on the table showing Geography, then (1) use the adjacent arrows to scroll through the data; or (2) click on the magnifying glass icon, choose "English Desc" and enter the name of the municipality or electoral area.
