Building Density (Postal code metadata) - 2
CANUE staff produced a measure of building density for all Canadian postal codes circa 2019. For any given postal code, density is calculated as the area of all building footprints (entire or partial) within a buffer, divided by a buffer area. Buffers of 100, 250, 300, 500, 750 and 1000 meters were applied. Open source building footprints were produced by Microsoft using high resolution satellite imagery and machine learning.
