Public Tranportation (Planet OSM website)

Public transportation stops were obtained from Open Street Maps (OSM). OSM data were downloaded from Planet OSM site in .pbf format (see Supporting Documentation for link) in May 2021. PostGres SQL was used to convert the downloaded files to OSM points, OSM lines, OSM polygons, and OSM roads. All point features in Canada coded as highway with the attribute bus_stop were used to calculate the number of public transport stops inside each 100, 250, 300, 500, 750 and 1000 meters buffer around each DMTI Spatial single link postal code for the year 2019.
