CACIS 2022 - Vendor Series The Conservation Authority Collaborative Information Sessions (CACIS) are a significant event on the Conservation Authority calendar, bringing together information management professionals, from each of the 36 Conservation Authorities and government ministry representatives from across the province. The annual CACIS provides a forum for representatives from the conservation authorities to showcase their work and results using new and emerging technologies. These featured projects provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing, which is vital for our information management and GIS communities. Conservation Ontario is a network of 36 Conservation Authorities, local watershed management agencies that deliver services and programs that protect and manage water and other natural resources in partnership with the government, landowners, and other organizations. Conservation Authorities promote an integrated watershed management approach that balances human, environmental, and economic needs. Community Avenza Maps and Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) has partnered with Avenza Maps to make it easier than ever for visitors to get their hands on trail maps for their hike. By updating their signage with Avenza Maps QR codes, visitors can arrive at the trailhead, scan and go. By leveraging Avenza Maps offline mapping capabilities, visitors will have all the tools they need to always know where they are, even without a signal. Tristan Lyttle and Daniela MacLeod will share details on what makes Avenza Maps and TRCA a good fit, how this partnership came into being and how other Conservation agencies can also partner up. Sharing and Decision-Making with Drone Data With the rising popularity in drone technologies now available in today’s market, this session will explore Esri’s drone mapping solutions: ArcGIS Drone2Map and Site Scan for ArcGIS. We’ll also outline the various capabilities offered by the Esri technology stack to support the collection, storage, visualization, analysis, and dissemination of drone data to internal and external stakeholders. Learn how to transform your drone imagery into actionable data to enhance collaboration and decision-making. Exploring the ArcGIS Workforce Starter Solution If you’re looking for a cost-effective solution for basic asset and maintenance management to help you be compliant with asset management legislation and grant funding, this solution is for you. The ArcGIS Workforce Starter Solution assists in improving asset inventory management, KPI reporting, and performance monitoring while enabling mobile GIS. It’s designed to leverage your existing GIS data and your investment in Esri technology by leveraging reports with Survey123 or ArcGIS Dashboard, as well as your ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise environments. The system is modelled to support organizations looking to move away from paper-based workflows and into automated, digitized processes to capture asset condition data, maintain updated inventories, and provide information to support work planning and analysis. What's New in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online In this session, Jasmine will highlight the recent and interesting new capabilities of the ArcGIS Pro 3.0 version release, along with the latest and greatest in ArcGIS Online. We’ll provide an overview of some new flood impact analysis tools, ArcGIS Online solution templates for flood response planning, and also dive into the mysterious world of ArcGIS Online credit consumption. Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Mapping and Geomatics Services Section Update The Government of Ontario’s Mapping and Geomatics Services Section oversees a collection of authoritative provincial-scale geospatial products and services covering a wide range of foundation geospatial data themes including elevation, imagery, transportation, and water. These products are easily discoverable and accessible through services such as the Ontario GeoHub and Ontario Web Raster Services. This session will provide a current overview of these products and services as well as what’s to come in the near future. In addition, this session will cover how this foundation data, along with other activities, is contributing to the province's commitment to supporting the advancement of flood hazard mapping throughout Ontario.
