TRCA Fisheries Wadable
This dataset includes 2010–2025 monitoring data from all wadable stream sites sampled by Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Aquatic Monitoring and Management (AMM) team. Data were collected through long-term watershed monitoring programs, short-term projects, and fish rescue activities conducted in support of infrastructure, restoration, and construction projects using established field protocols appropriate to site type and habitat conditions. For each site and sampling event, the dataset documents the watershed, visit date, sampling type, fish species captured, total number of individuals, and total biomass (weight in grams). For access to more detailed information, such as individual fish measurements, please contact the AMM team directly.
This dataset was created to support long-term monitoring and assessment of fish communities. Typically data were collected through standardized backpack electrofishing surveys conducted by the AMM team in accordance with the Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol (OSAP). Some data (e.g. fish rescue activities undertaken in support of infrastructure, restoration, and construction projects) may not follow the OSAP protocol. The dataset consolidates fish community information across multiple years and program areas.
Missing Measurements: A value of –99 is used to indicate that a measurement is not available.
While reasonable efforts have been made to ensure data accuracy and completeness, this dataset may contain errors, omissions, inconsistencies, or missing values. Users should review and validate the data as appropriate for their intended use.
