Regional Natural Infrastructure Network (RNIN) – Corridor

Habitat Corridors and Foreshore Corridors for the Regional Natural Infrastructure Network (RNIN).

RNIN corridors were identified using the “Optimal Region Connections” modelling tool to identify the least-cost paths connecting the terrestrial natural habitat areas across the Metro Vancouver region. Key inputs included a Difficulty of Movement Raster and a Barrier Raster, derived using the 2020 Land Cover Classification and 2022 Regional Land Use Assessment. Professional judgement was also used to refine corridor alignment with natural features, where appropriate.
